U.S. signs treaty with Samoa (ME) Matthew Taylor

Trade between America and Asia was growing and America was looking for orts harbor were they could refuel and resupply. One of the finest harbors that time was a huge port called Pago Harbor located in the Samoan territory. The biggest pulse to this was that Hawaii whaling ships and merchant vessels crossing the pacific would stop there to ret and take on supplies. This was a big deal because Americans at port could trade with everyone that was trading on the Pacific. So they signed a treaty with Samoan giving them permit ion to open a port on Pago Harbor

In 1891 American settlers wanted to farm on the Island and found out that since Hawaii had warm client a crop called sugar cane? It was used for multiple thing could easily grow on it so the American setters started large farms called plantations all over the Island that grew sugarcane and other plants that grew well in warm weather.
