Transcontinental Railroad (ME) tristyn martz


The Transcontinental Railroad was revolutionary; traveling 3,500 miles in three days was spectacular for America. The same travel before the Transcontinental Railroad was three months of anguish, dealing with Indians, starvation, and severe natural conditions. The railroad would unite our Country as one.

Beginning in 1863, the Transcontinental Railroad was being built. In building the railroad they had to overcome many encounters such as money problems, getting through the mountains, hazardous working conditions, etc.  Although of their hardships, the Transcontinental Railroad was completed in 1869.
